So Good You Could Eat Your Dinner Off Them

I was asked to make some table mats and napkins as part of a wedding present, and as we had just received delivery of our first fabric orders, I became our first ever customer.  I've made these twice before, once for myself and once as another wedding present but that was nearly 3 years ago now- it's been nearly that long since I used the free embroidery function on my sewing machine so it took a little getting used to again*.

So here they are:

I used Art Gallery Emmy Grace Little Town Blues for the "back" (what I consider the back, but others may call the front I suppose). The embroidered side is this lovely soft Teal fabric.  I actually wasn't sure it would take the embroidery as well as it did due to the weightless drape of it.  I embroidered them and the wadding together to make them a bit "pouffy" looking.

The napkins are made out of Emmy Grace Little Town Blues too; I just hemmed larger pieces than the table mats.

Their commissioner was very pleased with them.  Fingers crossed the happy couple is too!

Note: If you're interested in seeing my original table mats, I blogged about them here.

*Every time I use this function, I sew my finger.  And yes, this time was no exception. I keep plasters with my sewing box.
