What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit any website. They work by remembering you when you visit that website again, and help the website owner analyse how people use the website, what pages are most frequently visited and make changes to improve your browsing experience. Personal information cannot be gathered from cookies unless it is expressly given by you.
When making a purchase from The Haberdashery website you have the option to set up an account with us or to shop as a guest. If you set up an account we ask for your name, address, email address and phone number and we keep this personal information on file for the next time you shop with us. Cookies aid us with this. We promise to always keep this information confidential and only use it to fulfil any orders you may have with us.
Cookies also allow us to see which website pages get the most traffic and make changes accordingly to improve our website for you, the end user. You can choose to decline all cookies by changing the settings on your computer, but you may not be able to complete a purchase on this site if you do so.
Your Personal Information:
In order for us to process and ship an order to you, we need certain information- your name and shipping address, your email address (so we can send you an order confirmation and dispatch notification), and your credit card information (including a billing address). We only store this personal information if you set up an account with us. We do not store the credit card information, which is processed through Stripe, a secure online merchant service. We will not keep your email address for our mailing list without expressly asking you first. We will not pass your personal information information to a third party unless absolutely necessary to fulfil your order, or if legally required by a court to do so.
Obtaining Consent to Transfer EU customer data to the U.S.
We use Shopify to host our website. Shopify is a secure content management system which is designed specifically to host e-commerce websites. Shopify's secure servers are located in the United States. In accordance A ruling by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) an existing agreement between the EU and the US has invalidated the existing Safe Harbor Framework. This agreement allowed for the transfer of data between the EU and the U.S. A new agreement is being negotiated but in the meantime we are obliged to ask EU customers to consent to the transfer of their data to the U.S. Your date is still secure. Please contact us if you have any questions.
